With nearly twenty years of US public higher education experience, most recently serving as the Associate Vice President for Global Affairs at the University of Arizona, Palm has devoted his career to supporting educational access and global engagement.
Given his unique educational experiences at Harvard Graduate School of Education, York St. John University (in York, England) and Beijing International Studies University, Palm is often invited to comment on innovation in education and how educators can help prepare students for global leadership. As a speaker at regional, national and international higher education conferences, Palm addresses topics relating to innovative international programing, interdisciplinary education, and preparing graduates for a complex and competitive world.
In 2012, Palm was part of a team awarded the NAFSA Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization, an award that recognized the team’s unique contribution to comprehensive internationalization. In 2017, under Palm’s leadership, the international office he led was also awarded the Andrew Heiskell Award for Innovation in International Education by the Institute of International Education (IIE).
Education, in its various forms, remains a critical link for individuals to access a better and more fulfilling life. While higher education has a number of roles within society, it has a core mission to be a catalyst and engine for innovation and change; preparing students to be professionals and innovators of tomorrow.
Driven by our commitment to educational access, over the past 20 years we have worked tirelessly to cultivate educational partnerships, and developed large-scale in-person and online degree programs. We have initiated numerous dual degree programs, installed university representatives in seven countries, supported the recruitment of thousands of students, established university representative offices and with a team of incredible professionals, increased international student enrollment to historic levels at a number of prominent US universities.
